Good-- for a High School Film Class Project
This movie is quite good for a high school film class project.

It certainly wouldn't be considered good measured against any other standard, but for high school students making a movie for the first time, it is a pretty good effort.

Uh, I'm not positive it was made by high school students, but from the quality of the writing, the production, photography, and the directing it seems like it almost has to be.

I do think they must have subcontracted out the bridge-blowing sequence to middle-schoolers. Not very sharp middle-schoolers at that. Certainly one of the dumbest, most poorly researched and executed sequences of all time.

I've got to say that I don't know for sure that this was a high school production, but I'm thinking how could it have been anything else?????

I felt sorry for the actors. It isn't that the acting was in any way, shape, or form good: It wasn't. In fact, compared to normal professional productions, I would be inclined to call the acting "frightfully bad." But, in comparison to the script writing, directing, etc. in this movie, the acting was downright stupendous.

I'm not sure how much they spent making this movie, but I feel quite certain it wasn't much at all.

I am COMPLETELY certain that they didn't spend nearly, nearly enough. Each painful scene is painfully nursed to get the maximum amount of time possible out of it, whether it warrants it or not (in nearly every case, a definitive "IT DOESN'T!" I have a feeling very, very little footage was left on the cutting room floor.

Or maybe it was a "can we make a movie in one day" project . . . .

If it wasn't high schoolers, the "one day" thing might explain this juvenile, lame excuse for a film.
Not very good
I went into this knowing it was an Asylum movie, but I was bored. Asylum's raison d'etre is to make knockoff movies with similar names to big-budget ones, in the hopes that people will accidentally buy them. They also make outlandish movies like Sharknado. Being a smaller company, their movies don't have as much glitz and glamour as ones from the likes of Universal or Disney, but they can be fun if you go into it with the correct expectations.

This movie was no exception. Meant to be a knockoff of the blockbuster "Dunkirk", the story instead follows a squad of British soldiers on a mission to rescue a member of the French resistance (played by the beautiful Kimberly Hews) who holds the secret to radar technology called the "macguffin", I mean "algorithm".

It has its faults. The dialog isn't very well-written or well-performed. The gunplay and costumes are unrealistic, often laughable. Bottomless magazines. There are lots of anachronisms. The pacing started to drag in the middle of the movie, to where I fell asleep for about 30 minutes, and didn't feel like I missed anything important.

Despite all this, one bright spot was the German commander. I felt his acting was the best, and I really enjoyed his scenes. It was obvious he took great joy in portraying a cartoonish villain. I've seen people complain that his German speech was poor, but that wasn't a problem for me since I don't speak German. The tanks they use at the end are pretty cool too.

Overall, I wouldn't consider watching this movie a complete waste of time. It was clearly a rush job that lacks attention to detail, but it's fun in its own way, and it has a happy, if nonsensical, ending.
Not good.
My boyfriend got this for us to watch by mistake, instead of real Dunkirk. Very soon it became obvious it was a cheap knockoff. I think that, among other, the terrible acting and special effects that look like a 5 year old did them gave it away, but otherwise I'd be fully convinced I was watching the real thing. The boyfriend took 10 minutes to figure it out, though. He even got mad at me for laughing after the first 5 minutes.

If you choose to think of it as a comedy, it's definitely worth watching. I couldn't stop laughing during 80% of the movie. Better than some real comedies.
The most worst movie I've ever seen
This is a duplicate movie of Dunkirk 2017 and the worst movie with a low-quality graphic I have ever seen. If you have not seen this movie, after seeing this review, please don't watch the film. I think it will waste your valuable time. I think most of the actors were immature and they don't know how to show the expression.
Rides piggyback on a blockbuster
Quite frankly, I thought I was going to see "Dunkirk", the new blockbuster ...

As it so happens, it turned out to be a complete waste of an hour and a half ... time that I will never get back.

The CGI is worse than 95% of movies I've seen over the years ... and that's the best part of this movie.

Do yourself a favour ... go watch grass grow ... or paint dry.
Very boring moving
The title of this movie was promising a lot, however don't spent your time watching the movie. The most exciting in this movie, is watching the clock in the cabin staying at 10 minutes to 2 and see it advancing in time when the people leave the cabin. Even the German officer couldn't speak real German. Low budget with 10 actors Disappointing
Operation Dunkirk
This is the worst movie I have ever seen. I am not an ex soldier to Dunkirk and not remotely connected to the war. It is the worst acting I have seen for a long time. Shoot the producer. Shoot everybody that even thought to be part of this movie. Rather pay your movie ticket for a box of matches. In this modern age someone must have thought better. Who financed this?? I have a movie about a dog that can stand on its hind legs. Please finance me.
I only made first 10 minutes...
So, I MUST join my voice here to keep you wasting your time on this absolutely crap. By far one of (if not THE most) the most crappy ww2 movies. Where should I start ? (very) low budget for a movie who need a HUGE one ? Really bad, immature, amateur script ? Objects from later 2000 year filmed inside scenes in a movie from ww2 ?? Pathetic uniforms, from dozen of units, wrong colors, wrong size (its hilarious to see some guys using pants 4-5 numbers upper then his measures ! ) and an idiotic mix of weapons & vehicles ? Maybe the acting was decent, you may think... Ughh.. my drunk cat could produce a better show... To end this, my friends, pay patience & frustration reach max levels after only 10 minutes... Do NOT watch this crap. Its an insult for any film maker.
Everyone who likes Nolantino should watch this movie
Operation Dunkirk (OD) is basically Dunkirk (D) without insane budget, good acting and the same score every Nolan's movie has. In other words, it's essentially the same, but no one likes it because you can't even recognize it's the same when it's not wearing makeup.

Now don't get me wrong. I am not saying that D was a piece of unwatchable entertainment. I simply mean that hardly any movie is smart, or amazing on its own. Terribly often - nearly every reviewer ever - rates all the factors 10/10 just because they happened to like a movie. There is no reason to pretend that movie such as OD is the worst thing ever created and D the best movie that came out in 2017 when neither clearly did anything exceptional to be called a masterpiece of awfulness nor a "real" masterpiece. You can say they are opposites, but really they are the same.
amusing inconsistencies
Other reviewers have noted inconsistencies in the movie. Here are a few of my own: An SS officer is leading a squad of Wehrmacht troops; the people in that squad change from scene to scene: one older guy who looks like Captain Kangaroo or Sgt Schultz from "Hogan's Heroes" appears and then disappears; one Wehrmacht soldier wears a paratrooper helmet instead of the Stahlhelm, while others wear military police tabs. But the best one of all is that one of the Wehrmacht soldiers is a WOMAN! I can only detect her in one scene, in the back of the group as they're moving on foot, and I believe I can see a strand of her long, dark hair hanging down from under her Stahlhelm helmet.
